About Project Leadership mentoring
The Project Leadership mentoring program is a community partnership that works to weave the dreams, hopes and futures of our community’s most precious resource – young people. This school-based mentoring program matches outstanding community volunteers with local Twenty-first Century Scholars to encourage and guide them throughout their academic high school careers. Project Leadership awards mentorships to scholars during their freshmen year of high school. Mentors commit to a minimum of a one-year relationship with the student.
The mentorships are available to freshmen in each of Delaware County’s nine public high schools – Burris Laboratory School, Daleville, Wes-Del, Cowan, Delta, Muncie Central, Muncie Southside, Wapahani and Yorktown.
In this, the first year of the program, Project Leadership is seeking local mentors to meet with local Twenty-first Century Scholars one hour a week for the 2009-2010 school year.
