Assessment

Measuring Student Learning:

Formative Assessments

  • Observe student participation during the Employer/Employee matching activity.

  • Monitor student collaboration as they identify how careers can fit within different industries.

  • Confer with students as they research local employers and gather information for their employer profiles.

  • Review student progress as they explain why a selected employer is a good fit for their career interests.
     

Summative Assessments

  • Completed Employer Sheet or Employee Sheet activity

  • Completed Local Employer Profile

  • Identification of a local employer aligned with the student's career interests

  • Research summary describing the employer, why it is a good fit, estimated wages, and supporting facts

  • Portfolio submission of completed lesson artifacts
     

Evidence of Learning

Students demonstrate mastery by:

  • Explaining how careers can exist across multiple industries.

  • Identifying a local employer that aligns with their career interests.

  • Researching and synthesizing information about a local employer.

  • Justifying why a selected employer is a good fit for their career goals.

  • Presenting accurate employer information through a completed Local Employer Profile.
