Unit 2 - Overview
Unit Overview
The purpose of Unit 2 is to help students develop a deeper understanding of the wide variety of postsecondary opportunities available after high school while building the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions about their future. Throughout this unit, students will explore career pathways, professional interviewing, postsecondary credentials, college types, college selection, financial aid, scholarships, and military opportunities while learning how education and training connect to their long-term goals. Rather than promoting a single educational pathway, this unit encourages students to recognize that success can be achieved through many different options, including technical education, apprenticeships, military service, certifications, and two- or four-year colleges. By the end of the unit, students will have developed the confidence to evaluate postsecondary opportunities, ask informed questions, and create portfolio artifacts that support thoughtful educational planning and future career decision-making.
