Unit 4 - Overview
Unit Overview
The purpose of Unit 4 is to prepare students for a successful transition into high school by helping them understand the opportunities, expectations, and decisions that will shape their educational journey. Throughout this unit, students will explore their high school's course guide, graduation requirements, diploma options, Graduation Pathways, advanced coursework, career pathway programs, employability experiences, and industry certifications while developing a personalized four-year graduation plan. Students will learn how the choices they make in high school can open doors to future college, career, military, and workforce opportunities. Rather than asking students to make permanent decisions about their future, this unit encourages thoughtful planning, informed exploration, and the understanding that educational goals naturally evolve over time. By the end of the unit, students will have developed the knowledge, confidence, and planning skills needed to actively participate in high school course selection while creating portfolio artifacts that support continued educational and career success.
