Unit 1 - Overview
Unit Overview
The purpose of Unit 1 is to help students begin building a strong foundation for future career exploration by developing a better understanding of themselves, the opportunities available to them, and the connection between personal interests, skills, values, and the world of work. Throughout this unit, students will explore career pathways, identify their personal strengths, investigate local employers, and begin creating a professional identity through meaningful reflection and hands on activities. Rather than asking students to choose a single career, this unit encourages curiosity, self discovery, and informed exploration. By the end of the unit, students will have developed the knowledge and confidence needed to continue exploring careers while creating portfolio artifacts that document their growth and serve as the foundation for future college and career planning.
